Batter Up!!

This season we have 3 people who are taking the diamond! Emmah is playing softball, Jake is playing baseball and Tob is also playing softball. (Although he has cut down in recent years it really keeps the schedule hopping!)

This shot is definitely a FAVORITE! The 3 of them all play on the same baseball team and have sisters on this team...they were watching and rooting for the girls! TOO CUTE!!!

Pure Michigan

I sometimes think that maybe we take advantage of the fact that we live in this WONDERFUL state! We live only miles from a glorious lake, enjoy beautiful fall color changes, and have so many great opportunities right in our own backyard. Today we took advantage of one of those opportunities. The kids and I went blueberry picking. I remeber going with my dad in the summers to the blueberry warehouse where he worked, I would sit and eat all the bruised ones they couldn't pack and ship. It was GREAT!! This was our first doing blueberries, although we have done strawberries before.  

Here is some our loot and we can't wait to make some YuMmY blueberry muffins! 

Fountain Fun

 

This afternoon the kids were just sitting around and the temp was rising...what to do? Well this mom decided that we should finally take advantage of a very unique place we have in town! We are lucky enough to have a splash pad in town, it is basically a random fountain where water shoots, squirts and splashes in all directions! Now doesn't that sound fun?? I know it does to me, I would LOVE to run through it myself, but that might look a little weird... Anyway, we headed there today and had some much need cooling off from the heat, although I hear more is coming and it's only going to get warmer!

Batter Up!

With the summer season here, well technically it is. Softball and Tball are in full swing! With the weather however we haven't had much opportunity to actually play any games. Emmah finally had her first one on Wednesday and she did GREAT!! 

I love that they get to play every position and learn about the game. She is having a great time! Now if Jake would just get to play a game that would be AWESOME!!

Summer Bucket List

I have been inspired by many bloggers this year who have created Summer Bucket Lists. We usually have a lot going on in the summer and I like to keep things easy going, but this year I got to thinking with all we have going on with Emmah this might be just the perfect idea to make our summer smooth. There were so many options out there like this great one from the girls at Eighteen25, and this super fun idea from Katie at A List Maker's Life, and this one from Positively Splendid! I decided to make a combo of the last two due to space.Here is how we did it:

1. Brainstormed some ideas of what we wanted to do this summer.
2. Put all the items on small cards, we'll add a favorite memory and date when we complete them.
3. Put all the cards in a large jar I purchased from Hobby Lobby.
4. Put all the cards in our jar and we are ready to start!
