Mommy loves a good theme and had way too much fun planning this party!! There was so much more I would have done, but I'm trying to keep to a budget....overall though, I think it turned out great and Jake said he had a great time!!

It was a great time with great friends and family, which made for a very happy mommy and a very happy 5 year old!

A Whole Hand

Five years ago today, a beautiful and perfectly chubby little boy was born. He was sweet and cuddly and was so precious! It was a wonderful gift from heaven and I couldn't asked for a better little baby. On this day five years ago Jake Maddux was born at 9lbs 7oz. It was a delightful day, and very hot!

The past 5 years have been filled with fun, laughter, and a few time-outs!! I love you Jake, and can't believe that you are 5 and ready to start Kindergarten. You make me laugh and always keep my guessing. You are kind hearted and gentle. You have a love for your legos, hot wheels, and the pool! Your bright blonde hair makes me smile....when daddy doesn't shave it!! Your very athletic and can't get enough of just about any sport and seem to be a natural at them all. One major accomplishment of the summer is that you have learned to do a cannon ball! Your faces always make me smile and can make a bad day so much better. I love your hugs and when you try to tell a story and have NO idea what you are talking about. I can't wait to see what fun this year will bring us. Thank you for blessing our family! We love you Jake!

Letting Go

Okay most of you who know me, know I am not too spontaneous although I WISH I was! For some reason I am not always able to just let go and let things happen, dance in the rain, get muddy, and just have fun. Well Sunday I decided it was time, as we were in the midst of a downpour and the sun shining I told the kids to get on their rain boots we were going outside!

With no lightning or thunder to be seen or heard, we headed out. Of course the showers stopped, but there were still puddles. Here's to puddle jumping and just letting go and having fun!!

Geeks!!

Toby has always loved Star Wars, and well I like them and as I got older and spent more time with him I too grew to LOVE Star Wars. We have generously passed this on to our children! They LOVE it too! We have legos, to books, even the music.

Well last night we took the kids to see Star Wars in concert. It is a live orchestra playing the music from all 6 movies as well as showing scenes from all 6 movies on a HUGE digital screen! It was AWESOME! Here is what the kids had to say about the show:

Emmah-"I loved the show, and I loved the Darth Vader part with all the pictures. I also liked when they showed Anikan pod racing."

Jake-"I liked Darth Vader." (The best part for mom was the fact that Jake kept asking when they were going to show the movie!)

Look What I Made!

As most of you know I have a small business Bloem & Grow and have recently been offered the opportunity to sell my Scrabble tile necklaces in a local store! I am so excited and so I have been working furiously to make some new styles with fun and funky prints and colors for more of a tween line for their customers.

Rice Krispies

We are having some friends over to Mimi & Papa's pool tomorrow so we thought we should make a fun treat to share with all of them...so when I saw the festive star shaped rice krispies I knew it was just the thing so today in a midst of some afternoon boredom we got out the stuff and whipped up a batch!!
